Hi. Just wanted to let the public know of how Ola drivers in NCR cheat you. I don't think there's anything I can do to resolve this now, so just posting it here for general public awareness of such incidents.
Gaurang Kadrekar picked me up from an unusual spot at Delhi airport - not the Ola pickup zone. This should have been my first red flag. I usually sit in the front, but he insisted that I sit behind - second red flag. Throughout the trip he was very friendly, polite, and jovial. He asked my phone to show me something and I naively gave it to him - third red flag. He had it for just a minute. But in that minute, he opened the Ola app and added a far off, off-route midpoint to double the fare. I couldn't see what he was doing as he kept the phone hidden from my view. Upon reaching home he stopped the trip and showed me a double fare. I was shocked! He said it must be an app glitch and Ola will give refund.
I was tired from my travel and day, and he being friendly and keeping me in conversation, I had not paid much attention on what he was doing or could do with my phone. But I should have been more attentive and not indulged him as much as I did. Lesson learnt the hard way.
