Bill on unused airtel Fixed Line
I was using Airtel landline connection having number 04040170925 which later upgraded to a Broadband-Landline combo connection. By the time I got the broad band connection I got a new Land line(04040112313) connection as well. The person come for the installation suggested to go with the new connection and called to the customer care to discontinue the old landline number. After few days I got a bill on the old number and was told that the old number is still active. The same content I mailed to 121@in.airtel.com but no response. Now when I called to customer care to know the status they are saying they will take a fresh request to cancel now and I will have to pay the outstanding amount more than 1000/-. Surprisingly they are offering me some discount. I do not understand how can you generate bill on the number for which I am not using.


Please close the connection on the number 04040170925 and wave off the bill amount.

No .. they need closure request in writing from you ... otherwise anybody can close anybody's connection. And nobody will close connection unless you pay full dues in full in advance.

If you've proof of closure/disconnection request, then it'll be Airtel's fault.

It is not the amount that matters. It is more of my self-respect as an educated consumer!Shy
